  • Product Description

Bawbee Coin Necklace cast from an original old scottish sixpence.

Featured in the favourite Scottish nursery rhyme...
      Ally bally, ally bally bee,
      Sittin' on yer mammy's knee,
      Greetin' for a wee bawbee,
      Tae buy some Coulter's Candy.
A bawbee is an old Scottish sixpence or halfpenny! The name is derived from the mint master's estate on Sillebawby, a farm in Burntisland, here where I live.
The subtle imprint of the thistle is a nod to Scottish history.

The satin polished coin hangs elegantly from a sterling silver beaded chain and is finished with a signature 'Marion Made' tag.
