What is Gold Vermeil?
Our gold vermeil is a layer of 18ct gold 2.5 microns thick over sterling silver. As this is just a layer, every day wear can cause it to gradually fade, especially on rings and bracelets which have lots of contact knocking against objects.
Scents, lotions and potions can cause the vermeil to erode. We recommend applying your products first & allowing a few minutes for them to be absorbed.
Avoid spraying perfume or hairspray directly onto your jewellery as this can damage it. Remove your gold vermeil jewellery when bathing and swimming.
Chlorine, especially at high temperatures, can permanently damage or discolour the gold vermeil layer. Vermeil jewellery should also be removed when doing physical work & playing sports.
Gold vermeil will fade with time and wear, however, with good care it should last for years.
All Marion Made Jewellery items are guaranteed for six months. We offer a re-plating service on all of our jewellery, please contact us at email@example.com for enquiries.
